🌿 About Our Practice

We are a small, independent psychiatric practice offering personalized mental health care in a warm, welcoming setting. Our focus is on providing thoughtful, integrative support to help you feel understood, empowered, and well.

As a locally owned and operated practice, we offer:

    •    One-on-one attention without long waitlists

    •    A judgment-free space for all people and identities

    •    Holistic care, blending medication with lifestyle, mindfulness, and supportive strategies

    •    The flexibility and privacy of telehealth or in-person sessions

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or recovery, we take the time to truly understand your story—and tailor care to what works best for you.

Dr Burgos brings many years of valuable experience to the table. He partners with our nurse practitioners as their collaborating physician who is available when needed for clinical input.

WE ACCEPT MOST MAJOR COMMERCIAL INSURANCE PLANS

*We can not see patients who have Medicaid as primary or secondary insurance

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a type of advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has completed graduate-level education (either a master’s or doctorate) and advanced clinical training. NPs are licensed, independent healthcare providers who can diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, and manage patient care across a wide range of settings.

Key Points:

    •    Education & Training: NPs hold at least a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). They receive advanced clinical training beyond that of a registered nurse (RN).

    •    Scope of Practice: In Texas, NPs work under a collaborative agreement with a physician.

 Nurse Practitioners vs. Physicians:
While both NPs and physicians can provide similar care in many areas, NPs follow a nursing model of care, which emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care, health promotion, and disease prevention, whereas physicians are trained in the medical model, which is often more focused on disease pathology and treatment.

 In Psychiatry
A Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is a type of NP who specializes in mental health care. They are trained to assess mental health conditions, diagnose psychiatric disorders, provide therapy, and prescribe psychiatric medications.

*The GeneSight Psychotropic test is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes clinically important genetic variations which may impact how a patient metabolizes and responds to certain medications used to treat mental health conditions.
